Frequently Asked Questions
Does it upscale images?
No — Longest edge mode only downscales. Dimensions mode lets you specify any size; we recommend not upscaling beyond the source for quality reasons.
Which output format should I pick?
Keep source preserves the original format. Switch to WebP for the smallest files, JPG for compatibility, or PNG when you need transparency or losslessness.
What does the quality slider do?
Controls JPG / WebP compression. 85 is a good balance for most use cases. PNG is always lossless.
Are large batches slow?
Encoding runs serially in the browser. 20 medium-size images typically take 5–15 seconds depending on the device.
Is anything uploaded to a server?
No. The page is static; encoding happens entirely on your device. Your bytes never leave the machine.
