Frequently Asked Questions
What are the standard Vietnamese ID photo sizes?
The three most common: 3×4 cm for CMND, CCCD and general paperwork; 4×6 cm for passport and visa; 2×3 cm for driver's licence and a few other documents. All rendered at 300 DPI for print-quality output.
Which background colour should I use for passport or CCCD?
Modern Vietnamese passports and chip CCCD use a white background. Legacy CMND and CCCD use blue. US visa photos are typically white.
Do I need to remove the background first?
No — the 'Auto-remove background (AI)' checkbox is on by default and replaces your original background with the colour you picked (Blue for legacy CMND/CCCD, White for passport / chip CCCD). Uncheck it if your photo is already shot against a clean white or blue wall. For batch background removal across multiple photos, use the standalone Remove Background tool at /remove-background.
Is the resolution high enough to print?
Yes. Every size renders at 300 DPI — the print-quality standard used by photo shops and government offices.
Where can I print the result cheaply?
Download the .jpg and bring it to any photo shop to print on a 10×15 cm postcard — typically a few thousand VND per print. Or download the .pdf and print on A4 at home.
Do you support 5×5 cm for a US visa?
Not in v1 — only the three sizes most common in Vietnam. Send feedback if you need additional sizes.
